Sometimes it is hard to get the lay of the land when first flying into a new city. So you may ask what is there to do around the Ho Chi Minh City Airport (Tan Son International Airport-SGN). Although you may not be in the “city center” there is plenty to do and see in Tan Binh District. Away from the hustle and bustle of District 1 you will be able to experience how the Vietnamese people live. A good mix of western style store and shops are intertwined with quiet residential side alley ways teaming with a vast array of street vendors selling the most delicious food straight from their kitchen to your plate or bowl. This is what is meant when people say, “bang for your buck”. So, whether your looking for western food, traditional Vietnamese dishes, a mall, a movie theatre, or an ATM to get your trip started. Tan Binh District has what you need.
Places to eat
-Cheap local eating place and beer after work for working class. Craft beer is pretty cheap in this restaurant, around 30cents.
- You definitely should try deep fried frogs in here and you would surprise how good does it taste ( I would say way better than chicken wings)
